Smart Cascade Control Routines

Automatic gas mixing
Precise regulation of dissolved gases in a bioreactor is challenging because gas transfer between the gas phase and the liquid medium introduces delays. Conventional PID loops often struggle, leading to oscillations and unstable control.
The Minifor2Bio touch solves this with a cascade control system. In cascade mode, one measured parameter directly regulates another process variable. For example, dissolved CO₂ concentration can be mapped to CO₂ gas flow. Users define reference points in a mapping table, and the controller interpolates between them to deliver smooth, proportional adjustments.

This linear cascade approach avoids reactive corrections and ensures predictable, stable regulation. It reduces oscillations, compensates for slow gas–liquid transfer dynamics, and maintains consistent dissolved oxygen and CO₂ levels even as cell density and metabolic activity change.
By combining flexible sensor integration with cascade control, the Minifor2Bio touch provides researchers with a reliable platform for hypoxic cultivation, mammalian cell culture, and other advanced bioprocesses where dissolved gas stability is critical.
